Privacy and safety
Short version: Okaeri needs no account. Her memories, your settings, your models, your songs and your keys stay on your PC. Your messages go only to the AI service you connected, and she only looks at your screen if you allow it.
What goes where

Choosing a private AI
The free accounts treat your chats differently:
- Cloudflare doesn't keep chats or train on them.
- Groq doesn't keep them by default.
- OpenRouter: some free models may keep chats to improve their AI.
- Ollama or LM Studio (Advanced mode): everything stays on your PC.

You're in control
- Her memory: ⚙️ Settings → Memory shows everything she remembers. Remove any fact with ✕ and edit her notes about each day.
- Characters: deleting a character deletes her memories too.
- Your screen: she never looks without permission. Turn it off any time in Settings → Desktop.
- Your phone: nothing is shared until you press 📱, and Stop sharing ends it.
Safety
- Kind and wholesome: she stays a cozy, PG companion and declines explicit content. See Romance.
- Honest: she knows she's an AI and never pretends to be human. She can't browse the internet, so she won't make up news.
- Looking out for you: if you seem to be in real distress, she gently encourages you to reach out to people you trust or to local emergency services.
- Safe Workshop items: maps and routines are data only (3D models, pictures, music and simple settings). Okaeri never runs code from them, checks every file each time it loads, and skips items Steam has banned. See Maps, routines and the Workshop.
